A clean studio, a clean river — Potters · The Makers
It is the end of the day in the Little Kiln Town workshop. The Makers of Our World game on MyLeoNes for ages 7–17; invented stories, crafts learned safely.
Your task
Tap the lines that are a problem.
- Dry clay and glaze make a fine dust that contains silica, which can harm the lungs after years of breathing it. Clay that goes down the sink settles in the pipes and blocks them, and dry scraps can be soaked and made into new clay.
- Invented guild stories to learn from. Never try fire, hot metal, glass, blades or power tools on your own: crafts like these are learned with a trained adult.
- Every craft came from many people in many places. Nothing about you is collected.
Score
- Craft knowledge — You understood how this craft works.
- Making it well — You put the steps in a sensible order and used the right tools.
- Care for people & planet — You kept people safe and used materials wisely.
In real life
Many studios and schools now work this way: damp-wipe surfaces, let clay settle in buckets, and reclaim scrap clay. They protect the people who work there, keep pipes and rivers free of clay, and waste less of a material that took millions of years to form.
Potters
The guild stories are invented, to learn from. Fire, heat, blades and tools are only for trained adults: learn these crafts with a trained adult, never at home. Nothing about you is collected; progress stays on this device.
