The four forge steps — Smiths · The Makers
In the Emberhollow forge, a trained smith is making a chisel while you watch from behind the line. Put her steps in order.
Your task
Put the forge steps in order.
- Heat makes metal soft enough to shape. Quenching cools it fast to make it hard. Tempering warms it gently so it is tough, not brittle.
- Invented guild stories to learn from. Never try fire, hot metal, glass, blades or power tools on your own: crafts like these are learned with a trained adult.
- Every craft came from many people in many places. Nothing about you is collected.
Score
- Craft knowledge — You understood how this craft works.
- Making it well — You put the steps in a sensible order and used the right tools.
- Care for people & planet — You kept people safe and used materials wisely.
In real life
A tool that is hard but too brittle can snap, which is why tempering matters.
Smiths
The guild stories are invented, to learn from. Fire, heat, blades and tools are only for trained adults: learn these crafts with a trained adult, never at home. Nothing about you is collected; progress stays on this device.
