What is scarcity?
Detective Pip hears the word scarce all over Price Square and wonders what it means. Help Pip check what is true.
Ice cream on the beach
Mara sells ice cream cones at Sunny Cove beach. It is a very hot day and the queue is long, but only 20 cones are left.
The story of a sale
The shop on Price Square ordered far too many winter coats. Spring has come and the coats are still on the rack. Put the story of the sale in order.
Cost plus a fair profit
Lina bakes oat cookies for the Price Square fair. The flour, oats and butter for one tray cost 6 coins, and the tray makes 10 cookies.
Check the price signs
Detective Pip walks along the stalls of Price Square and reads the signs. Some prices are fair, and some are too high, too low or not honest.
One mango, two towns
A mango costs 2 coins at the orchard gate in Sunvale. In some other places it costs more, in others about the same.
