Fire in the frying pan! — Firefighter & First Responder · Pretender
At a fictional school safety day, you act out a phone call: oil in a pan has caught fire in a kitchen. Students choose what the caller should do. Choose the safe actions, in the right order.
🚨 This is a training game, not real emergency instructions. In a real emergency, get to safety, follow adults and call 112. Never go back into danger.
Decisions · ~3 min
Your role
You're the firefighter teaching the class (in this game).
Your goal
Choose the safe actions, in the right order.
What you know
- Water on burning oil makes a fireball: the water turns to steam instantly and throws burning oil into the air.
Limits
- Your life matters more than the kitchen.
Success looks like
- No water — You avoided the fireball.
- Cut the fire's air — Heat off and lid on, only if safe.
- Get out & call — If it spreads: out, close the door, call 112.
Skills you used
- Responsibility — Knowing when to act and when to ask for help.
- Prioritising — Doing the most important thing first.
In real life
Fire services teach that you should never put water on a cooking-oil fire: turn off the heat if it's safe, cover it, and if it spreads, get out, close the door and call 112.
