Clean hands before the next patient — Doctor & Nurse · Pretender
At the fictional Harbour Health Centre, you're about to see your next patient. Before that, the team's poster reminds everyone how to wash hands properly. Put the hand-washing steps in the right order.
🩺 This is a game with made-up patients. It does not give medical advice or diagnoses. If you feel unwell, talk to a trusted adult or a doctor; in an emergency call 112.

Your role
You're a nurse (in this game).
Your goal
Put the hand-washing steps in the right order.
What you know
- Clean hands are one of the simplest ways to stop germs spreading between patients.
- Rubbing with soap should last about 20 seconds — about two 'Happy Birthday' songs.
Limits
- Every step counts; skipping one leaves germs behind.
Success looks like
- Right order — Soap goes on wet hands and rubbing comes before rinsing.
- Thorough — You cleaned every part: palms, backs, fingers and thumbs.
- Clean finish — You dried with a single-use towel and didn't touch the tap again.
Skills you used
- Responsibility — Knowing when to act and when to ask for help.
- Vigilance — Noticing warning signs early.
In real life
In hospitals, hand hygiene is checked and taught all the time. Staff also use alcohol gel between patients when their hands look clean.
