A boat from old bottles — Shipbuilders · The Makers
For the invented Saltport school regatta, Leo and Nes build a small model raft from plastic bottles. Shipwright Nuno helps them test it in a paddling pool.
Your task
Make the best choices.
- Closed bottles full of air push up on the raft (buoyancy). Weight placed low and in the middle keeps it from tipping. Builders test small models before trusting anything bigger.
- Invented guild stories to learn from. Never try fire, hot metal, glass, blades or power tools on your own: crafts like these are learned with a trained adult.
- Every craft came from many people in many places. Nothing about you is collected.
Score
- Craft knowledge — You understood how this craft works.
- Making it well — You put the steps in a sensible order and used the right tools.
- Care for people & planet — You kept people safe and used materials wisely.
In real life
Real shipyards test hull models in long water tanks. A model raft is for a pool or bath with an adult nearby, not for real people on open water.
Shipbuilders
The guild stories are invented, to learn from. Fire, heat, blades and tools are only for trained adults: learn these crafts with a trained adult, never at home. Nothing about you is collected; progress stays on this device.
