Honest headline or clickbait? — Writing Room · Free Press

The Vila Nova Gazette's website has a list of draft headlines. Tap the ones that trick readers instead of informing them.

Your task

Find the clickbait.

Clickbait hides the news to make you click. An honest headline tells you what happened.
Invented newsrooms and stories to learn from, not real news. Before sharing anything about real people, ask a trusted adult.
Never share private details of anyone. Nothing about you is collected.

Score

How news works — You understood how this part of journalism works.
Truth & accuracy — You checked the facts before telling them.
Fair & kind — You were fair to the people in the story.

In real life

Real world: several large platforms have changed their algorithms to show less clickbait, and press councils treat misleading headlines as an accuracy problem.
