The recycled photo — Fake News · Media Detective

Four posts say a storm "just happened" in the invented town of Vale Claro. Your reverse image tool shows when each photo first appeared.

Your task

Sort each post: fake, real, or needs more evidence.

• Today is the day of the storm.
• Every person, site, post and brand in this case is invented — a training simulation.

Score

• Warning signs — You spotted the warning signs.
• Fair judgement — You didn't call true things fake.
• Checked before sharing — You checked before spreading it.

In real life

Reverse image search is one of the first tools journalists use on viral photos.

Every case is fictional: no real people, brands or schools. Nothing about you is collected — your progress stays on this device.
