Pick the right format — Newsroom · Free Press
The Daily Lantern can tell a story in print, on radio, in video, as a podcast or on the web. Each story fits one format best.
Your task
Choose the best format for each story.
- Print is good for detail you can keep, radio and podcasts for voices, video for things you must see, and the web for fast updates.
- Invented newsrooms and stories to learn from, not real news. Before sharing anything about real people, ask a trusted adult.
- Never share private details of anyone. Nothing about you is collected.
Score
- How news works — You understood how this part of journalism works.
- Truth & accuracy — You checked the facts before telling them.
- Fair & kind — You were fair to the people in the story.
In real life
No format is better in every case; good journalists choose the one that serves the story and the audience.
