The Solar Power Boom
Solar power each country can produce at full sun, from 2000 to 2025
What can we learn?
- This counts the solar panels a country has installed, measured by how much power they give at full sunshine. One gigawatt is a billion watts.
- In 2000 almost nobody had big solar farms. As panels became much cheaper, countries started to build them very fast.
- Panels only work when the Sun shines, so the power they really make over a year is smaller than this full-sun number.
