How Long Is a Day?
Length of one day on each planet, in Earth hours
What can we learn?
- A day is the time from one noon to the next: the Sun goes from its highest point in the sky back to its highest point.
- On Mercury and Venus a day lasts months, because they spin very slowly. Jupiter spins so fast that its day is under 10 hours.
- Mars has a day very close to ours, only about 40 minutes longer.
