Mobile phone subscriptions per 100 people, from 1995 to 2022

A subscription is a SIM card or a phone plan. More than 100 per 100 people means more subscriptions than people, because some people have two.
In 1995 the leaders had only about 20 subscriptions per 100 people. By 2022 the top had almost 300.
Many countries built mobile networks before phone lines reached most homes, so for many people a mobile was the first phone they ever used.
