What can we learn?
- Most of the world's milk comes from cows, but buffaloes, goats, sheep and camels give milk too.
- India became first in 1997 and now produces about 248 million tonnes a year: more than twice as much as the United States.
- Fresh milk does not keep for long, so a lot of it is made into cheese, butter and yoghurt, which last much longer.
